Driver Dies when Car Flips After Being Rear-Ended

A man was killed after being rear-ended and losing control of his vehicle on State Highway 1 early Friday morning.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, 60-year-old Ricky C. Hodges of Mountain View was northbound on State Highway 1 in Poinsett County at 5:21 Friday morning when 24-year-old Gregory Meilke of Harrisburg struck the rear of his vehicle.

Hodges then lost control, left the roadway and overturned several times, according to the report.

He was taken to Jackson Funeral Home in Harrisburg.

Hodges was not wearing a seat belt.
