David James Harrison, 48, was taken into custody this morning at his home after a Lonoke County Circuit Court Judge found probable cause to arrest him on 20 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony.
Harrison was being held in the Lonoke County Detention Center pending a court appearance.
"This type of exploitative, criminal activity is an affront to our State and will not be tolerated in Arkansas." McDaniel said. "We intend to demonstrate in court that this man repeatedly violated state law. Along with other law enforcement agencies across Arkansas, we will continue to work to prevent Internet crimes against children."
Harrison's arrest followed an investigation that began in June.
Agents executed a search warrant at Harrison's residence, 230 Valley Creek Drive in Cabot, in July. As a result of the search, two computers, a digital tablet and other electronic evidence was seized. Multiple images depicting the sexual abuse of children were discovered on one of the computers during an analysis at the Cyber Crimes Unit Forensic Lab in Little Rock.
The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation and arrest.
