A disturbance call led to the arrest of a man charged with two counts of felony sexual assault on Wednesday night in the Lavaca area.

According to the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office, Hector Mendez was being confronted about allegedly sexually abusing two girls, ages 12 and 10.

Deputies began investigating the allegations, and Mendez agreed to speak to authorities, then eventually admitted to touching the two young girls in their breast area on several occasions, the Sheriff's office reports.

Mendez told investigators that he is a chaplain for some area industries, and listed on his booking form that he is a pastor, but did not list a church.
