The President of the Marion County Fair was arrested for felony theft of property on Thursday.

The Marion County Sheriff reports 45-year-old Sandy Evans of Yellville was arrested following a complaint of missing and/or the misuse of funds from the Marion County Fair Board.

The investigation showed that Evans wrote checks to herself totaling $1,175 from the Fair Board's account, and used another $762.64 which was not authorized by the board to buy herself a phone, the Sheriff reports.

The charge is a class D felony.

Evans posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court next Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The matter is still under investigation.
