A Mountain Home man has been arrested after a manhunt for a stolen vehicle suspect.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) says Aaron John Guptill, 45, is accused of stealing a vehicle Tuesday from a home on Oak Ridge Drive in Salesville.

That night, the driver of the vehicle jumped out and ran from officers on Holland Lane South of Mountain Home.

Officers, as well as the K-9 team from the Arkansas Department of Correction and the Sheriff's Office helicopter, searched for the man for several hours, with no luck.

Guptill was later developed as the suspect and he was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

He has been charged with:
  • Theft of Property (motor vehicle)
  • Failure to Appear
  • Non-Payment of Fines
  • Child Support Non-Payment
Guptill is being held on $15,000 bond on the vehicle theft charge, $745 on the misdemeanor warrants, and $2,500 on the child support order.
