Mountain Home Man Arrested after Knife Fight

A Mountain Home man has been arrested after cutting another man with a knife during a fight.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) says it happened about 10 o'clock Wednesday night at a home on Highway 126 North.

Terry Lee Palmere, 34, is charged with felony battery in the case. He's being held at the Baxter County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.

The BCSO says deputies were eventually led to Palmere after a chain of events that began when a sergeant on patrol in the Midway area heard a woman screaming. When he found her, she told him that a man had hit her in the face at the Midway Oaks Laundry. When the deputy went to the laundry, no one was there.

A short time later, dispatchers sent deputies to a fight about a mile away from the laundry.

Deputies determined during their investigation that several people were involved in related fights and disturbances at several places in the Midway area. The BCSO says those people gave conflicting statements and allegations about what had happened.

Palmere was arrested after deputies reportedly found sufficient evidence present for them to believe that he had gone to a home at 5925 Highway 126 North, physically fought with another man there, and cut him several times with a knife. The victim had only minor injuries and did not need medical attention.
