The fate of a pit bull believed to have attacked and killed its owner remains undetermined, with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office considering its options.

The dog is one of two pit bulls deputies believe killed 45-year-old Debra Wilson-Roberts. An autopsy confirmed severe bites from the animals resulted in blood loss that caused her death.

One pit bull was put down on the scene due to aggressive behavior, but the other one remains in Pine Bluff Animal Control custody.

Under a county ordinance, law enforcement can either euthanize the animal or return it to the owners.

We've been told a family member has expressed interest in taking the animal, but the sheriff's office hasn't made a decision on how to move forward, given the dog's involvement in the deadly attack.

This is insane. Why would they so much as consider returning a pit bull that has already killed? This 'family member' won't only be endangering himself, but his entire neighborhood within a radius of five miles. I think the county needs to let this nutcase's neighbors vote whether s/he can have the killer dog. Actually, the county needs to just put the mauler down, but apparently some kind of Pit-Bull Rights corruption is interfering.

Why does the husband say the wife's body was on the floor but the deputy said the body was on the bed? That doesn't make sense to me.
