Retired California Officer Arrested in Hot Springs Road Rage Incident

A retired California police officer has been arrested in a case of alleged road rage in Hot Springs.
Joseph Jenkins, 74, of Royal, was booked by police and then released on $2,500 bond after the incident around eight o'clock Monday night.
Police say Jenkins was arrested on a charge of terroristic threatening after an incident along Airport Road during which another driver said Jenkins pointed a gun at him.
Officers found Jenkins in his vehicle a short distance away on Albert Pike Road. While talking to police, Jenkins reportedly presented a Los Angeles County retired officer's badge.
Rodney Winger, of Royal, the other driver in the incident, told police he had accidentally cutoff Jenkins while changing lanes on Airport Road and kept going to a turn lane onto Albert Pike Road.
Winger said Jenkins then pulled next to him, pointed a silver revolver with a black handle at him, and asked "You have something to say?."
Jenkins gave officers consent to search his vehicle, telling them he had a 9mm handgun in the glove box and said his wife's gun might also be in the truck.
Officers found the 9mm pistol and a .22-caliber revolver in the center console that was silver with a black handle.
Police say both guns were loaded.
