There will be 68 staffers at the Little Rock Veterans Home who will be out of a job come early November, and the 23 veterans who are still living in the crumbling old home have until then to find another place to live.

Arkansas Veterans Affairs Director Cissy Rucker originally did not set a deadline when she decided to close the home, but a spokeswoman for Rucker's office says some of the veterans who are still there were proscrastinating moving to other certified care facilities.
