Shaw Recycling was slapped with the violations after law enforcement say the owner failed to take digital fingerprints, photographs and other documentation required by law. The legislation is meant to curb the sale of stolen scrap metal in the state.
"The form that they use, it's not like it's rocket science it's pretty self explanatory of what you need and have to do to follow the law and do it by the law," says Saline County Sheriff Bruce Pennington.
Today's search warrant, the result of an undercover operation, was the first conducted by the task force.
The 34 violations against the owner would cost $17,000 if he is convicted in court.
