Tuesday marks the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks that claimed thousands of lives and changed our country in so many ways.
Students at one school are honoring the anniversary in song.
The choir students at Jacksonville High School are barely old enough to remember 9/11, but they do understand music's ability to comfort and heal.
So now, 11 years after the terror attacks, they're putting together a special show.
"I was in school here actually when 9/11 happened," says school music director Chris Cross, who came up with the idea for this concert. "We actually watched some video footage and things, and when they saw they happen, they were like, 'oh my goodness, yes, this is something we really need to commemorate.'"
So they invited Jacksonville firefighters, police officers, commanders from the air base and local leaders, to say thank you in song.
"We felt like the community should know, even though we weren't old enough to understand what happened, we want to remember those that have been forgotten and those who have been affected by it," said choir student Shyrell McKinney.
