Some Hog Fans Sell Stubs After ULM Upset

It is one of the most highly anticipated games of the season, but after the Hogs lost to ULM on Saturday, Hog fans are thinking twice about the price they paid for the tickets.

The meltdown on Markham hit hog fans hard.

"Obviously, no one expected it. I'm pretty shocked. Everybody thought it was a dream," said Jesse Belt, a fan who wants to sell his tickets.

The future of the field? The unranked Razorbacks will take on the number one Crimson Tide this weekend.

"I'm definitely prepared for the worst. I don't think there's really much optimism at all. I just don't want it to be that ugly. I'd really be happy with that," said Jesse.

Before Saturday's game, the Alabama/Arkansas game was highly anticipated. Both teams ranked in the top ten and tickets were sold out at sky high prices.

"I paid $150 for two tickets for each so three hundred total. Right now I figure we're paying top dollar for tickets for a top dollar team but the team is not performing that way," said Jesse.

Folks like Jesse Belt are hoping to sell their seats for face value, the same seats they paid triple digits for just months ago.

"I'd sell mine for $70," said Jesse.

Not only is this fan trying to sell his tickets, he's looking to scalp some stubs too.

"My plan would be after I sell my tickets on Stub Hub, to just play it by ear and go to the game or at least tailgate and if I'm in the mood or up to it go buy tickets. I just hope to try to get a little bit of my money back.," said Jesse. "I think a lot of fans feel kind of cheated as far as how much they've already committed to this season and for it to already just deflate like this."

And even though the loss is hard on the heart, this Razorback fan still hopes to see the Hogs win on Saturday,

"I love the hogs and I will stand by them."

I agree with Lloyd B. It's just a game. I wish the Hogs the best at the game this weekend. But I really hope Alabama wins!

haha, this lloyd b. guys a joke. I don't understand what "get a life" means in this context. All that was said in the article is that fans are upset with how the year is starting off and paid quite a bit of money for some tickets for a possible blow out. And lloyd b. what are you even talking about when you say "anyone who lives their life according to what some college football team does is completely stupid" lloyd b., who is living there life through college football. That wasn't even mentioned in the article, your life obviously consists of posting a stupid unoriginal comment on every single article on Arkansas Matters. Lloyd B., you are ignorant and a nincompoop. Sincerely, Lloyd A. or Nick A.
