Holiday Shopping Option in Central and Northwest Arkansas

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: September 7, 2012
Dozens of shops and boutiques in central and northwest Arkansas want the business of holiday shoppers, so they're offering discounts on their merchandise.

The special deals are available October 26 to November 4 as part of Partners Card, a fundraising project of the volunteer auxiliary of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

Many participating retailers will be selling Partners Cards in their stores, which are listed in the attachment below.

For 10 days, shoppers who purchase the $50 cards will receive a 20-percent discount at more than 170 area stores. All proceeds from the sale of the Partners Cards will go to the Cancer Institute's volunteer auxiliary to fund projects that directly benefit cancer patients in Arkansas. The auxiliary provides information, services, compassion and hope to those touched by cancer.

Just in time for the holidays, shoppers will be able to save on everything from the latest fashions for the whole family to antiques, home furnishings, fresh flowers, gift items, jewelry, outdoor gear, children's toys and more.

This is the ninth year for the Cancer Institute to offer Partners Card in central Arkansas and the seventh year in the northwest part of the state. During that time, the fundraiser has raised more than $566,000 in central Arkansas and $100,000 in northwest Arkansas.
