A Southwest Arkansas college system is celebrating an historic Fall enrollment.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope (UACCH) reports higher-than-expected student numbers at its Texarkana campus.

A UACCH spokesperson says the high enrollment numbers have helped push the system's total enrollment past 1,500 for the second time in the system's history.

Elected officials gathered on campus Wednesday morning to celebrate the opening of the campus with a ribbon-cutting.
