Repairs to Fayetteville's Frisco Trail Nearly Complete

By: KNWA-TV, Fayetteville
Updated: September 5, 2012
There's good news for cyclists and joggers in Fayetteville.

Repairs to a portion of the city's bike trail are near completion.

During the spring of 2011, heavy rain and flood waters washed out part of the Frisco Trail, just off Center Street.

Crews began rebuilding the hillside underneath the trail back in June and now the work is 95-percent complete, according to the city.

The only thing left to do is finish up some drainage work to make sure the trail isn't washed away again.

City workers say the entire project should wrap up in about a week.

As for the bill, the city tells us FEMA will pay for about 75-percent of the cost.

The remaining expenses will be paid for by the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and the City of Fayetteville.
