Child on Scooter Hit by Car

A Rogers child is in the hospital after being hit by a car while riding a scooter.
Police say the 9-year-old was riding on the sidewalk down the 400 block of East Post Road on Thursday night.
According to the report, the child swerved onto the street and into the path of a car, driven by Jose Juan Quinteros-Villanueva.
Officers said Quinteros was not able to stop in time and the child was hit by the bumper of his truck. Quinteros, 35 of Rogers, contacted the parents.
The 9-year-old was taken to Mercy Hospital and later transferred to Springfield, Mo. for further treatment.
No citations have been issued in this accident.
