Lake Ouachita Vista Trail Reopens Early

By: News Release
Updated: August 31, 2012
The portions of the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail and Trail 271 that were temporarily closed due to logging operations near Hickory Nut Mountain Trail have reopened.

Originally, it was thought that these areas would be closed through the end of October 2012, but logging operations were completed near the trail earlier this week.

Logging activities are still occurring in the surrounding areas and visitors are encouraged to use caution and be alert for logging vehicles in the vicinity.

Caddo/Womble District Ranger Gloria Chrismer stated, "We appreciate the public's patience during the temporary closures. We encourage everyone to keep safety in mind as they recreate in the national forests."
