LR Public Works Readies Sandbags for Citizens to Pick Up

The City of Little Rock Public Works Department has made sandbags available for pick up and use by the citizens of Little Rock.
 
"Sandbags are being filled for citizens with concerns of flooding due to the approaching tropical storm," said Assistant Public Works Director Jon Honeywell.
 
The sandbags will be filled and stocked at the following locations:
  • Little Rock Central Maintenance Facility located at 3313 J. E. Davis Drive from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday. 
  • Central Fire Station at 7th Street and Chester Street from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday and 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday.
With the predicted heavy rainfall, Public Works also cautions the traveling public to be very careful during this rain event and not attempt to drive through streets that are covered in water.
