A Sparkman (Dallas County) man was killed Wednesday afternoon in Clark County when a log truck overturned onto his vehicle.

It happened along Highway 7 in Griffithtown about four o'clock.

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says James C. Hunter, 63, was driving south on the highway when a Peterbilt truck going the other way lost its load on a curve. The logs the truck was carrying shifted, tipping it over onto Hunter's 1991 Honda.

Norma J. Jones, 55, of Sparkman, was behind the wheel of another car traveling behind Hunter's. She was injured when she swerved to avoid the log truck and her car flipped over. Her condition is not known.

A third vehicle was then hit by the log truck, but the driver and his passenger escaped injury.

The driver of the log truck, Michael W. Mann, 44, of Sparkman, was not injured, the ASP report said.
