The first crash happened in Randolph County just before two o'clock along Highway 67, a few miles north of the Current River.
The accident report from the Arkansas State Police (ASP) says John W. Johnson, 50, of Pocahontas, died when his Hyundai crossed the center line and collided head-on into a Mack truck driven by Ralph T. Walrod, III, 45, of Poughkeepsie, who was injured.
Johnson died at the scene. It's not known how seriously Walrod was hurt.
The other deadly accident Monday morning happened just after 4:30 in Izard County, along Highway 5, five miles north of Highway 56.
The Arkansas State Police accident report says Ethan T. Barnes, 20, of Mountain Home, died when his pickup truck went off the road and hit several trees.
Barnes was driving north on Highway 5 when he veered off the east side of the road, overcorrected to get back on the road, then went off the west side of the highway.
Barnes, who the ASP says was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out of his vehicle on impact.
