Man Drives to Emergency Room After Shooting Himself in the Hand

A man in Mountain Home went to the emergency room Friday morning after accidentally shooting himself in the hand.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office says Jeffrey A. Franklin of Endeavor, Wisc. was cleaning a pistol at his vacation home when it discharged and injured his left hand.
Franklin told officers he removed the magazine from the .45 caliber Remington 1911 model pistol, but apparently forgot to clear the chamber.
He then drove himself to the emergency room for treatment, where Sheriff's Officers met him and determined it was an accident.
