Afternoon Update:
Police have released the name of the suspect in Sunday's shooting in Bentonville.

Monday afternoon, police confirmed the shooter as Perry Davis Junior.

According to police, Davis shot and killed his wife Sunday night before turning the gun on himself.

Davis was taken to a local hospital.

Original Story:
Police said a woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a standoff in Bentonville Sunday night.

"I don't want to live here any more. This is crazy," said neighbor Delynn Davis.

A Bentonville neighborhood was rattled as police, SWAT teams and the Bentonville Bomb Squad swarmed the streets.

"We had a barricaded person and a possible hostage," said Bentonville Police Chief Jon Simpson. "Tonight's incident was resolved with the death of a female party and an injury to a male party involved."

According to Chief Simpson, officers responded to Southwest Ouachita Drive for a domestic disturbance around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said shots were then fired, and it turned into a standoff situation lasting several hours.

"Windows crashing, fire shots, this is crazy," said Davis.

It is still early in the investigation, but as of Sunday evening, police believe the man taken to the hospital was the gunman and that he suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"We plan on working throughout tonight, obtaining a search warrant and hopefully getting a better handle on what went on," said Simpson.

Officials are not releasing the name of the suspected shooter or victim at this time.

Benton County property records list Perry and Kelly Davis as the owners of the home on Southwest Ouachita Drive.

"It just makes me want to cry," Davis says. "This will not go away overnight, I mean, this will not go away for any of us that live in this neighborhood overnight."

Police are working to get a search warrant and will be releasing additional information as it becomes available.
