Fatal 3 Car Accident on Highway 79 in Jefferson County

Around 3 p.m. this afternoon the Arkansas State Police were called out to US 79 in Jefferson County. The accident occurred just south of Wabbaseka which is about 15 miles north of Pine Bluff when Scotty Holderfield of Rison crossed the center lane and sideswiped a car in the southbound lane.


Holderfield's vehicle continued on striking Sandra Oliver, 38 of Shreveport, LA, head on. Oliver was the only person killed in the 3 car accident. Holderfield and his wife, Debra Holderfield, both sustained injuries in the accident.


The vehicle occupied by the Holderfields burst into flames, but they were able to escape the vehicle without being burned. The driver of the third vehicle, was not injured.
