Clinton Presidential Center Throws 2nd Annual Back-to-School Family Festival

The Clinton Center is hosting a back-to-school celebration Saturday, Aug. 18 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Along with the "Head of the Class Bash," there will be free admission to the museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and cupcakes in celebration of President Clinton's 66th birthday. 

Gov. Mike Beebe and First Lady Ginger Beebe will help hand out school supply-stuffed backpacks, sponsored by 3M, to the first 1,200 students who enter the building.

This festival will also include free haircuts for students by All Pro Styles, free immunizations provided by the Arkansas Department of Health, and free dental screenings from the Bevans Dentistry.

The event is being held at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center located at 1200 President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock.

There will also be live entertainment, door prizes and plenty of free giveaways.

Other features of the event include:
  • Free Hope watermelons from the Hope Chamber of Commerce while they last
  • Free ice cream donated by Yarnell's
  • Free birthday cupcakes by Forty Two
  • Bounce house activities
  • Tours of a Little Rock Fire Department (LRFD) fire truck
  • Free car seat inspections by the LRFD
  • Healthy eating tips and a fruit and vegetable tasting tent courtesy of Alliance for a Healthier Generation
  • Traveling Arkansas Game and Fish Aquarium
  • Free audio tours narrated by President Clinton for Library visitors
 

Door prizes include:
  • Free tutoring and educational services donated by APT Educational Services
  • Gift basket filled with books, games and more from Barnes & Noble
  • Swim lessons and swim gear from the Laser Swim Team and Arkansas Dolphins
  • Schwinn bikes
  • $100 gift cards from Dillard's

Giveaways include:
  • Books from the Clinton Museum Store
  • Dental hygiene kits
  • Beauty products by L'Oreal
  • T-shirts from the Army National Guard
  • T-shirts, water bottles and ball caps from the Marine Corps
  • T-shirts from the Navy Recruitment office
  • Hot dogs provided by Edwards Food Giant, First Security Bank and Hostess
  • Notebook paper from Walmart
  • School supplies from Office Depot
