21 Arkansans Headed to Kosovo

Twenty-one Soldiers with the Arkansas National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 238th Air Ambulance departed their mobilization station have left Indianapolis en route to Kosovo where they will perform an air medical evacuation support mission.
The unit, which belongs to the Arkansas National Guard's 77th Theater Aviation Brigade, is part of a 159 person task force that includes Soldiers from California, Hawaii, and South Carolina.
The will be deployed for approximately nine months.
"Everyone is proficient, working well together, and ready to get over there to get the job done and come home," said 1st Sgt. Ferrell Whaley.
"Though the mission is not as volatile as it is in Afghanistan, it's still a mission that will keep us occupied as part of the main task force."
With this departure, the Arkansas National Guard will have a total of approximately 425 Soldiers and Airmen deployed overseas in support of operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo.
Approximately 200 more are currently training at their mobilization stations in preparation for deployments later this year.
