Documents Detail Allegations Against Brinkley Police Chief

By: Brittney Johnson, KARK 4 News

Newly released state police documents show Brinkley's police chief admitted to having oral sex in a patrol car with an employee who is filing a federal lawsuit against him.

Chief Edwards contends the relationship was consensual and the Monroe County Prosecutor agreed, deciding not to pursue charges in July.

A polygraph test showed Edwards was deceptive when asked whether he forced the employee to perform sexual favors.

The chief was also flagged as being deceptive when he said he did not threaten her job.

Chief Edwards is on paid administrative leave while the city of Brinkley investigates the case.
