In today's health tip -- summer heat.

With summer activities showing up on our to-do lists, it's best to take precautions when dealing with the summer heat. The University of Michigan Health System says wearing loose clothing and a wide-brimmed hat for shade are good ways to avoid excessive exposure to the sun.

Also, drinking water regularly, even when not thirsty, will keep your body cooler and replenished.

Limit your alcohol intake in the heat, as it can affect your body's self cooling, and will cause you to dehydrate and sweat more.
