Public Hearing on Broadway Bridge Improvement Options Set for Aug. 23

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Location Public Hearing in North Little Rock to discuss proposed alternatives for improvements to the Broadway Bridge (Highway 70) over the Arkansas River between Little Rock and North Little Rock, according to AHTD officials.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Arkansas Transit Association Building (Training Room), 620 W. Broadway St. in North Little Rock.
At the meeting, participants will see plans for five alternatives - four construction alternatives and a no action alternative. The project is proposed due to deterioration of the existing structure, increasing maintenance costs and the bridge's functional obsolescence. The project is scheduled to be let to contract in late 2013.
The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
