That's why one Pine Bluff ministry jumps at the chance to reach out to youngsters in the community.
Whether it's catching fish, jumping rope to a riddle, or a game of hoops some Pine Bluff youngsters are enjoying another day of fun at summer day camp: sponsored by The Healing Place Ministries.
"We're committed to trying to make a difference in this community," explains Rev. David Morgan.
For the month of June kids from the Pine Bluff area have flocked to this camp eager for a day of fun. In between the catch of the day or the battles on the court, the leaders of the group hope to live by example and teach these youngsters how to deal with everyday issues.
"What we try to do is provide an opportunity for 100 plus children to come out during the summer and we expose them to different workshops, we have anger management, self-esteem classes and we do drug awareness, arts and crafts," adds Morgan, "Using the Bible as our back drop, but again we try to model behavior."
And if you ask around, some kids are telling others about their experiences here at camp.
"You have to be trustworthy and God is watching over you and you have to have respect to others. No matter what happens you have to be there for that person," explains camper Trianna Sanders.
While Sanders jumps in for a little fun, it's the lesson about life she admits make the biggest difference.
"I think a lot of people learn things from here because there's a lot of thing you should know from the Lord and from other people you should know and enjoy it," adds Sanders.
