Updated: August 8, 2012
The suspended Executive Director of the Metropolitan Housing Alliance (MHA) will not be returning to her position.

"We would hope that the new director, whomever that might be, will be able to heal the wounds that have been opened," MHA Board Chairman Richard Stephens says.

They fired Executive Director Shelly Ehenger on Tuesday, and denied her appeal at a special meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Ehenger could not be located for comment.

She and Human Resource Director Kim Travis were on unpaid suspension since May, but the board voted to bring Travis back starting Monday.

Stephens says a full report of the investigation will be made public as soon as all parties are notified.
