Hundreds of Arkansans have enrolled in a new nationwide cancer prevention study.
The American Cancer Society says that nearly 600 people enrolled last week for the CPS-3, bringing the total to more than 1,000 Arkansans participating in the study, but more are still needed.
The study will last for decades and is open to those between the ages of 30-65 that have not been diagnosed with cancer.

The American Cancer Society is asking for volunteers to participate in a cancer research study that began in Little Rock on Wednesday.
The Cancer Prevention Study-3 will be going strong at the American Cancer Society Turner Volunteer Center at 901 N. University through 6 p.m. Wednesday, with enrollments to continue through Saturday.
The study aims to help researchers better understand different factors that can cause or prevent cancer.
The study is open to people 30-65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal or squamous cell skin cancer) and are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, as periodic surveys will need to be completed from home.
Enrollments on Thursday are planned at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock from noon until 6:00, the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce on Main from noon until 6:00, City of Little Rock City Hall from noon until 4, Blue Cross Blue Shield on Gaines from noon to 6 and Bishop Park in Bryant from 1 until 7.
