Women's Health Events Held At Wal-Mart Stores On Saturday

Updated: June 22, 2007
Women will be asked to take a pledge for better health on Saturday at Wal-Mart stores across the country.

"Speaking of Women's Health" campaign spokesperson Dr. Pamela Peeke says it's
important that women get information about a healthy lifestyle.

She says women should lead a balanced lifestyle and understand that the best
care giver, is a healthy care giver.

Peeke says women should shoot for progress, not perfection, by taking small steps.

She suggests that women pledge to be consistent in areas like stress management, spirituality, nutrition and physical fitness.

More than four-point-seven-million women have taken a pledge to improve their health since the "Speaking of Women's Health," "Take a Pledge" program started four years ago.

Women who attend the event at local Wal-Mart stores from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday will get a free book that includes health and personal safety information.
