Fayetteville Police confirm that a woman shot on Sunday shooting has died.
Sergeant Stout said the victim, Jessica Stewart, a woman in her late 30s, died around 10AM Monday morning. The warrant issued for the suspect has been amended to include capital murder charges.
Authorities identified Sunday's shooting suspect as Eric Frankenhauser (photo below). The shooting happened just before 9 Sunday morning when a neighbor reported hearing gunshots, and seeing a woman lying in her front yard.
"We received a 911 call at 8:52 this morning," says Fayetteville Police Sgt. Craig Stout.
Officers on scene said she had a gunshot wound to the head.
Witnesses at the scene tell police they saw the suspect drive off in a white Hyundai, which was later described as a 2005 Elantra model. It's believed to be the victim's car.
Police say the victim had only been living at the Wedington residence since June and next-door neighbors say the victim and Frankenhauser were in a relationship and living together.
According to Stout, they will be reaching out to authorities around Philadelphia, where the suspect lived until recently moving to Arkansas. They believe he may have headed back to the area.
Anyone with any information about Frankenhauser's whereabouts is urged to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at (479) 587-3555.
