What to Watch: Olympics Day 9

By: Matthew Kitchen, NBC Olympics

Bolt, Blake, Gay, and Gatlin sprint for 100m gold, Maroney vaults for victory, and Murray hopes to win big for GB when he faces Federer in a Wimbledon rematch. Here's what were watching on Day 9.

Men's 100m - Usain Bolt looks to repeat his gold and world record performance from Beijing, but he's been stuck in the blocks all year, so compatriot Yohan Blake and Americans Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin will be on his heels. They're aiming for the "world's fastest man" title and all eight runners could finish under 10 seconds for the first time ever.

Women's Gymnastics: Vault - McKayla Maroney vaulted Team USA to a near perfect start on their way to gold in the team event. Now she's the clear favorite in the individual event as she attempts the Amanar, aka: the same ridiculous twisty thing she did Tuesday. Maria Paseka will also do the Amanar to medal, but no one does it better than Maroney.

Men's Tennis Finals - Andy Murray and Roger Federer met on the All England Club grass a month ago at Wimbledon, with Murray taking the first set before a rain stoppage broke his momentum. Federer eventually won to break England's heart, but Murray can rebound for a hometown gold and be the first British man to win at Wimbledon since 1936.

Women's diving: 3m springboard - Wu Minxia is a lock to win gold, according to roughly everyone, but the women's 3m springboard is shaping up to be an exciting contest for second and third. Americans Cassidy Krug and Christina Loukas finished the semis in fifth and sixth respectively and have a shot at the podium if they nail their third and fourth dives.

Men's Track Cycling: Omnium - For British Eyes Only! Favorite Edward Clancy slid to fourth heading into Day 2 of the Omnium, track cycling's sextathlon. He finished first in the 250m time trial but got knocked out early in the elimination race. Now he'll compete in three more disciplines in hopes of bringing home Great Britain's sixth cycling gold of the Games.
