health(Leawood, KS) -- In today's health tip -- listening to your body. No matter what your age, when exercising, you should understand that doing more isn't always better.

Your body can only take so much, and every body is different. The American Academy of Family Physicians suggest the following tips for knowing when your body is trying to tell you something.

If you experience chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, lost of balance or difficulty breathing, you should slow down your routine and not overexert yourself.

If you suffer from strained or sore muscles that last for a few days, your muscles are telling you they need a break. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should contact your doctor to discuss an exercise plan that will be both beneficial to your body.
