A Sherwood native is leading an Army Reserve unit stationed in Kuwait.

Brig. Gen. Bud R. Jameson, Jr., is the commanding general of the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, which deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait at the beginning of July.

He recently presided over a patch ceremony during which soldiers of the unit commemorated their deployment to Kuwait.

The right sleeve of the army uniform is for displaying the unit that a soldier deployed with into a combat zone.

Every soldier of the 316th received a patch from their commander.

The 316th will remain in Kuwait through the beginning of next year.
