The "Dinner and  Movie" event happens each Wednesday, with volunteers aiming to offer Little Rock's homeless a hot meal and a few moments inside away from the elements.

Today, they celebrated its first anniversary.

"It started out pretty small but since then, like last week we served nearly 400 meals to people," said Pastor Carter Ferguson.

"There are no big I's or little you's the doors are open come on in," said church member Patrick Keck.

Dinner and a movie starts each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Canvas Community Church. The food is provided by North Little Rocks Potluck company, and other Methodist churches donate water and additional supplies.
