Health Insurance Could be in Danger for Some South Arkansas Patients

The Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado is in negotiations with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas to increase rates.

The hospital says that with the cost of business rising, they need fair compensation from Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide sufficient service to their patients.

There's no word on where the negotiations stand, but if a decision isn't reached by Sept. 1, patients may not be able to use Blue Cross Blue Shield at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Blue Cross Blue Shield says they are hoping an agreement can be reached with the hospital, and their main priority is always their patients.
