Water Concerns Prompt Senators To Consider Water Caucus

By: Nichelle Sullivan
Updated: July 26, 2012
As Arkansas deals with one of it's largest droughts ever recorded, Senator Mark Pryor announced the formation of a "water caucus" in the senate.

The purpose would be for senators to exchange information and ideas on topics such as the scarcity or treatment of water.

Senator Pryor sees the caucus as a way to bring diverse voices together.

"I don't want to have one of these urban versus rural or industry versus environmentalist, it doesn't have to be that way," says Pryor, " We can work through these issues and create good national policy without a lot of conflict."

Pryor will begin recruiting members from both sides of the aisle to work together and call in experts on water issues.
