Governor Mike Beebe is in Yell County this afternoon for a first-hand look at the wildfire damage in Ola.

The Yell County Sheriff's Office says the blaze burned across 1,400 acres by three o'clock this morning, when it was 100-percent contained. Around six o'clock this morning. fire crews extinguished a small outbreak of fire north of Highway 10 across from the large fire scene at Ola.

Governor Beebe started his tour from the Danville airport shortly after noon.

He first visited the fire command center, where he personally thanked firefighters for their continued work throughout this summer's historic drought.

He then headed to the fire lines along Highway 10, where crews are still watching for any flareups.
