The Yell County Sheriff's Office says the blaze burned across 1,400 acres by three o'clock this morning, when it was 100-percent contained. Around six o'clock this morning. fire crews extinguished a small outbreak of fire north of Highway 10 across from the large fire scene at Ola.
Governor Beebe will leave from the Danville airport shortly after noon for his tour of the area. He will visit the fire command center, the fire lines along Highway 10, and personally thank firefighters for their continued work throughout this summer's historic drought.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission has a 20-man crew, three bulldozers and a helicopter in the air this morning.
Firefighters are still on the scene due to concerns primarily with the east side of the affected area as winds later today could pick up burning embers and spread the fire again.
