Members of the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society know all about what to look for in the night sky.

They regularly share their passion for stargazing with a number of events throughout the year.

This past weekend they hosted a "Star Party" at Pinnacle Mountain State Park.

They set up telescopes at the Visitor Center and pointed out the highlights for two hours.

KARK 4 Photojournalist Stephen Goodale stopped by to record the event for this web extra.

Participants learned all about the planets Saturn and Mars, the Ring Nebula, the Great Hercules Cluster, the Dumbbell Nebula (really its' name), the colorful double star Albireo, and more.

The CAAS says its star party events are "a great family-friendly activity."
