Work on Highway 270 in Grant, Jefferson Counties Requires Lane Closures

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: July 23, 2012
Crews performing a chip sealing operation on Highway 270 in Grant and Jefferson counties will require moving lane closures next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The work is scheduled on Highway 270 in the vicinity of Hardin in Jefferson County and in extreme eastern Grant County, near the Jefferson County line.

The work will require one of the available travel lanes to be closed temporarily during the day utilizing a moving lane closure.

The moving lane closures are scheduled for today and tomorrow.

Due to the possibility of loose gravel in the lanes, motorcyclists should take additional care while traveling through the project area.

The moving lane closure's pilot car will be able to periodically pull off the road to allow the following traffic to pass by.

Drivers are urged to have patience when traveling through the construction zone.
