A Bryant woman has died after the SUV she was driving went off Highway 70 in Saline County.

It happened just after 12:30 Tuesday afternoon near Browning Road, a few miles just west of Interstate 30.

Arkansas State Police say Jo Carey, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the accident report, Carey's Pontiac SUV was headed east on Highway 70 when it crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck driven by James Buck, 68, of Bonnerdale. State Police say the vehicles collided on the westbound shoulder of the road and that Buck had tried to get out of the way. He and his passenger, Judy Buck, 63, were injured but their conditions are unknown.

The accident report notes that Carey was not wearing a seat belt while both Buck and his passenger were.
