While so many businesses have packed up and left, three new stores and a restaurant has decided to move in. Some of those like Jack and Jill Fun Zone, The University Shop and Cook's Fish and Soul Food are now calling the mall home.
The mall is under new management, by Andy Weiner, out of Houston. The General Manager, Scott Green, says the goal was to get three new stores in the mall this year.
They've accomplished that already and mainly by people from right in Pine Bluff. People like the Anderson's who own the restaurant.
Jeremiah anderson says "Most people in Pine Bluff do business in Little Rock or far off and we just wanted to give something back to Pine Bluff and try to rebuild the mall."
Green says "There are people with great ideas, great business sense that are right here in our community." He also says that next year they want five new businesses. The year after that, seven more. In all generating 15 new stores and restaurants.
Green also says they are in talks with some larger anchor stores that they can't talk about right now as well.
