Bicyclist Dies in Accident Saturday Night

Saturday night around 8:45, Little Rock police responded to an accident at the intersections of Pine and Plateau Streets.

William Rush was driving a Red Chevy Silverado truck down Pine Street when he collided with a bicyclist.

The bicyclist is identified as 30-year-old Jevon Newman.

According to witnesses and police reports, Newman was riding his bike with flip flops.

The pedals he had on his bike reqiured special peg shoes.

Witnesses say Newman appeared to be having trouble pedaling his bike.

He was taken to UAMS where he was later pronounced dead.

At this time, Rush doesn't face any charges.
