According to Pulaski County Emergency Manager Andy Traffanstedt there are 18 volunteer fire departments in Pulaski County alone. Manned by 375 volunteers that leave their jobs at a moment's notice to fight fire in this brutal, dry heat.

Small, rural departments say they can handle the occasional fire, but now they're getting called out several times a day. And with work, families, and other committments volunteers say they're getting stretched thin.

If you'd like to help, you can drop off a case of bottled water at any volunteer fire department
