A teenager has died after a fireworks accident in Lafayette County.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) says deputies were called to a home in the Buckner area around 9:30 last night.

That's where they found two 17-year-old boys with what were described as severe injuries from a sparkler bomb.

Both boys were taken to a Magnolia hospital where one of them, Justin Smith (in photo above) was pronounced dead.

The second teen remains hospitalized.
