It broke out in Bald Knob just after noon.
Crews with the Bald Knob Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Commission (AFC) worked together to protect six homes from the flames.
The fire did burn one camper, but no one was inside.
Bald Knob Fire Chief Danny Holobough believes it was possibly started by a cigarette butt thrown out near Rowlin Road and South Waller Road.
The fire department had four trucks and 12 firefighters on the scene and the AFC had three plows working to contain the blaze.
It took about four hours for them to put the fire out.
There were no injuries.
