Military Confirms Death of Pine Bluff Soldier in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced today that U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Strachota, 28, was one of two soldiers killed on June 24th in Kandahar while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Strachota and his fellow soldier were assigned to the 96th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), of Fort Hood, Texas.
There will be a Patriotic Musical Celebration in Sgt. Strachota's honor at First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff tonight at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation for Sgt. Strachota is Friday at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral and Cremation in Pine Bluff from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services are Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff. The time for the service is not yet known.
